IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - A City Council member in Iowa City and his law partner have settled their lawsuit and will go their separate ways.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports (https://icp-c.com/2mlsVyj ) that council member Rockne Cole and Dan Vondra announced Tuesday that they’ll operate separate practices out of their current office until their lease ends and they can move on. Cole says the settlement terms won’t be disclosed.

Vondra filed the lawsuit in January, saying Cole overpaid himself for work he did at Cole and Vondra from 2013 to the end of 2016. Vondra sought the return of more than $42,000 to the firm. Cole said he disputed the way the compensation formula was calculated.

The firm was established in 2009.
