ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Most state legislatures have at least some control over setting their own salaries, though many haven’t raised it for years.

- New Hampshire, at least 1943

- Texas, 1975

- Louisiana, 1981

- Mississippi, 1986

- Virginia, 1988
