THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) - The California Highway Patrol says a man’s body has been found on the center median of U.S. 101 in southeastern Ventura County.

CHP Officer Marco Marin says drivers near Thousand Oaks reported seeing an object wrapped in a blanket or some kind of material early Tuesday.

Responding officers discovered the body of a man believed to be in his 60s.

Investigators are trying to determine whether the man was dumped on the freeway or hit by a passing vehicle.

One lane was briefly closed as officers waited for a coroner’s team to arrive.
