As attested to by the FBI, the U.S. intelligence community is concerned that the Islamic State has the ability to manufacture fraudulent passports (“How Donald Trump strengthens national security,” Web, Feb. 1).

It seems therefore not only advisable but also obligatory for Mr. Trump, as president of the United States, to have issued the executive order for a 90-day delay (and actually longer if necessary) of entries from the very countries former President Obama identified as problematic. This is necessary while we do better vetting to nab those trying to come to the United States to murder and destroy.

Also, during that 90-day period and afterward, Muslims should unite worldwide in a strong peace campaign. Meanwhile organizations such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, other established development banks, the United Nations and construction companies of the world should begin planning rapid rebuilding of what has been destroyed in the Middle East. They should also work toward a peaceful repatriation of those who have been forced out of these ravaged countries and want to go back to help rebuild what they loved and can love again.
