SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - A Chinese chemical company is opening a plant in Spartanburg that will employ more than 50 people.

The Herald-Journal of Spartanburg reported (https://bit.ly/2kVsspE) that Pacific Industrial Development Corp. announced this week it will move into two existing buildings in Spartanburg.

Hiring for the 53 jobs is expected to start next month.



Pacific Industrial focuses on material research and development, including work with powders, water-based products and proprietary substances.
