JENNINGS, La. (AP) - Just one person has applied to fill the school superintendent position in Jeff Davis Parish.

Interim Superintendent Kirk Credeur was the only person to submit his name for consideration by Monday’s 4:30 p.m. deadline.

The American Press reports (https://bit.ly/2ks6JVM ) the School Board is expected to interview Credeur in the next few weeks and make a decision at its Feb. 16 meeting.

Credeur, who has 35 years in education - 23 in Jeff Davis Parish and 12 in Calcasieu Parish - says he is excited and humbled to be considered for the position.

Credeur has served as a classroom teacher, principal, assistant principal and supervisor. He served the last 3½ years as assistant superintendent before being appointed interim superintendent in December following Brian Lejeune’s retirement.
