Every March Madness has a Cinderella or two, and this one is no different.
With its “Magical Bracket Game,” introduced Friday, Entertainment Weekly hopes to determine who fits the proverbial glass slipper with the “best Disney song” of all time.
Among the songs in contention are “Let It Go” from “Frozen,” “A Spoonful of Sugar” from “Mary Poppins” and the iconic “When You Wish Upon a Star” from “Pinocchio.”
(Of course, a certain fairy godmother may have stacked the deck a little bit: there are three song entries from the 1950 animated classic.)
The NCAA-style single elimination bracket debuted on the magazine’s website with a first round of 64 songs. Voters have a generous 24 days until the field is whittled down to 32 on the morning of March 14.
The process repeats with shorter and shorter balloting windows until the top four tunes are left standing in mid-April.
The winner will be crowned Monday, April 17.
