NORTON, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police are investigating the death of an 81-year-old man in the Canadian border town of Norton after he was injured in an altercation with his daughter.
Police were called to the home on Vermont Route 114 at about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday where troopers found the body of Leroy Patten.
Police say his daughter, 53-year-old Janelle Stanley, had been living at the home with her father. She told investigators her father suffered from dementia and that he had accosted her before he was injured.
Investigators did not describe how Patten was injured. An autopsy is being performed.
The investigation into the case is continuing.
