HAWTHORNE, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey authorities say they cut a hole in the roof of a car to rescue a woman after the vehicle slid on ice into a pond.
Hawthorne police Lt. James Knepper told The Record (https://bit.ly/2kgYyw1 ) that woman was driving a sedan along the pond when the vehicle began to slip.
He says a nearby resident called police and the fire department was able to cut a hole in the top of the car to get the driver out. She was taken to a hospital to be treated.
The woman was not identified. Her condition is unknown.
