BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A man accused of murdering a 14-year-old in Jefferson County two years ago has been convicted of a lesser charge.

Hutchinson was charged with murder in the February 2015 shooting death of Miracle Stinson.

Stinson was killed after getting into a fight with a group of girls near a library. Witnesses told police that one of those girls phoned a friend after the fight. Shortly after, the eighth grader was shot and killed on the back porch of his home.

Hutchinson is scheduled to be sentenced on March 16.
