NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Nashville authorities are investigating the discovery of a man’s body inside a vacant home that had caught on fire.

According to The Tennessean (https://tnne.ws/2lypRlU ), Nashville Fire Department spokesman Brian Haas says in a statement that firefighters battled the blaze on Friday morning and didn’t find anyone in the home. Haas says the home was believed to have been vacant for the past three months.

On Saturday, a group salvaging materials from the home discovered the man’s body behind a refrigerator door. Haas says the body was covered with debris.

The man’s identity wasn’t immediately released and an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Firefighters are investigating what started the fire, which originated from the back of the home. Haas says there were no immediate signs of arson.
