URBANA, Ill. (AP) - The new acting regional dean of the University of Illinois College of Medicine will take over later this month, pending approval from trustees.
The (Champaign) News-Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/2l5omKS ) that Janet Jokela is set to take over on Feb. 16, replacing Michele Mariscalco, who’s been the Urbana regional dean for the past there years. Mariscalco is starting a new position at the university’s Chicago campus.
Jokela joined the faculty in 2000 and has served as the director of the internal-medicine resident program, among other positions.
She graduated from the University of Minnesota, worked at Massachusetts General Hospital and served on Harvard Medical School’s faculty.
