ODESSA, Del. (AP) - A fire official says a construction worker was badly burned in an accident at a work site north of Odessa.
State Fire Marshal’s Office spokesman Michael Chionchio says in a statement that the 21-year-old man was on the back of a truck trying to thaw a hose Friday morning. He says the hose broke, spraying oil on the man, which then ignited after touching an open flame.
Chionchio says the worker was burned on about 40 percent of his body and was flown to a burn center in Pennsylvania, where he was admitted in critical condition.
