WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Police say a car fleeing a traffic stop ran a red light and was involved in a crash in Wilmington.
Police said in a statement Wednesday that when officers stopped a Ford Focus on Tuesday night, a passenger fled on foot and the driver struck the officers’ cruiser as he drove off.
Police say an officer took the passenger into custody after using a stun gun. Meanwhile, police say the driver ran a red light as he fled and hit two other vehicles.
Police say the Ford driver and two men who were in the other vehicles were taken to hospitals. The two other men were treated and released. The Ford driver remains at a hospital awaiting release and transport for an arraignment on multiple traffic offenses.
