TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Construction on a new Pima County Animal Care Center that will be twice as big as the old one began on Wednesday.
The county says the new building is expected to open in December and will be about 60,000 square-feet and an expanded vet clinic.
The new care center will also have indoor and outdoor dog housing, cat group housing areas and other features to protect the health of pets.
Construction over the next two months will involve installing utility trenches and the facility’s foundation.
