OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A longtime Omaha outdoor sporting goods store has announced it is going out of business.

Canfield’s Sporting Goods announced Wednesday it will close its doors after 71 years in business.

Canfield’s is one of Omaha’s largest locally owned and operated outdoor stores.

The store will hold a going-out-of-business sale on Friday. The company cited uncertain economic times, recent unusually warm winters and competition from online marketers in making the decision to close.

The store plans to close at the end of January.
