Man armed with rifle shot by police

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Police say a man with a rifle is in critical condition after he was shot by police in Pittsburgh.

Police say it began as a chase Monday night after the suspect ran a red light in Wilkinsburg and ended in Pittsburgh’s Point Breeze neighborhood.

KDKA-TV reports that’s where the suspected opened fire on police and officers returned fire.

No officers were injured.

The name of the suspect has not been released.
