SAN DIEGO (AP) - A crewmember suffering a medical emergency was flown from a cruise ship more than 200 miles off Southern California to a hospital on shore.
The Coast Guard says it was notified Sunday by the crew of the Holland America Line’s Oosterdam that a 33-year-old man was having symptoms of appendicitis.
A helicopter hoisted the man from the ship about 230 miles southwest of San Diego and flew him to a hospital in San Diego County.
His condition is unknown Monday.
