The 118th football showdown between Army and Navy may as well be called the Blue Angels vs. the Pando Commandos.

West Point’s uniforms for the Dec. 9 game against the U.S. Naval Academy will feature uniforms honoring the legacy of the 10th Mountain Division — aka the “Pando Commandos” — America’s alpine specialists since 1943.

Army West Point Sports released a promotional video Monday to social media to highlight this year’s design by Nike.

“The 10th Mountain Division was essential in ending Nazi resistance in Northern Italy,” Nike’s “Climb to Glory” promotional page says. “The division’s exceptional training combined with the specialized alpine skills of its members allowed the division to succeed over terrain that was thought impassable.”

Saturday’s game at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles, will include Navy’s Under Armour uniforms paying tribute to the iconic Blue Angels flight team.

The Black Knights of the Hudson (8-3) hope to capitalize on last year’s win over the Midshipmen (6-5), which snapped a 14-game losing streak.
