LINCOLN, Del. (AP) - A toddler has been killed and seven other people have been injured in a blaze that engulfed a two-story home.

The News Journal reports that the toddler’s body was found after the raging fire was brought under control at the house near Lincoln.

Jay Jones is a spokesman for the Ellendale Fire Company. He says by the time firefighters arrived Thursday, most of the people in the building had escaped. The injured were treated at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Photos in the newspaper showed a blazing fire, with flames shooting out of windows.

The identities of the victims have not been released.

State fire investigators are trying to figure out the cause of the deadly fire.
