NORWICH, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut State Police say a woman has been charged with manslaughter in connection with a crash that killed one of her passengers and injured herself and another passenger.

Police say 23-year-old Victoria Berube was arrested Sunday on multiple charges including second-degree manslaughter and driving under the influence in connection to a June crash on Interstate 395 in Norwich. The Day reports Berube is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Norwich Tuesday.

Police say Berube’s vehicle was attempting to change lanes and struck another vehicle, causing her to lose control. One of her passengers, Benjamin St. Pierre, was pronounced dead at the scene. Berube and another passenger were transported to an area hospital for injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.
