Small plane crashes off Miami Beach, pilot swims to safety

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Officials say a small banner plane has made an emergency landing in a Florida bay.

The Miami Herald reports that the pilot swam to safety Friday afternoon after crashing into Biscayne Bay, near Miami Beach. There were no other passengers.

Miami-Dade Fire spokesman Jorge Linares says no injuries were reported, and the crash didn’t really affect anyone else because of where the plane went down.
