Man found dead after fire

MYAKKA CITY, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a man was found dead following a fire at his Florida home.

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports that the fire occurred Wednesday.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office says Myakka City Fire Department and the East Manatee Fire Department responded to a fire at a camper with an attached shed. The home had already collapsed before firefighters arrived.

Rescue workers found 69-year-old Daniel Morrison’s body inside the remains of the destroyed home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
