ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - Two shuttered rural hospitals in Virginia have been purchased recently.
The Roanoke Times reports that Lee County sold its hospital Tuesday to a Florida company for $2 million. The company plans to reopen the hospital.
Virginia Community Capital purchased the recently closed Pioneer Hospital in Patrick County at a foreclosure auction on Wednesday. The purchase price was $5.7 million.
VCC said it hopes to continue using the building for health care purposes, but is open to considering other possible uses.
