MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A West Virginia man has been sentenced to up to five years in prison for a shooting at a Division of Motor Vehicles parking lot and later leading police on a chase.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown, Maryland, reports 28-year-old Sierran Dontae Banks of Charles Town was sentenced Monday in Berkeley County Circuit Court.

Banks pleaded guilty in October to a felony count of fleeing in a vehicle with reckless indifference and misdemeanor counts of brandishing a deadly weapon and fleeing from law enforcement.

Court records show no one was wounded in the DMV shooting last December that prompted a brief lockdown of the Martinsburg facility. Banks led police on a pursuit two weeks later before he surrendered.

At the time, Banks was on parole for a 2014 federal drug conviction.
