AIKEN, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina man has died in a fire at his home.
Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton told local media outlets that 50-year-old Tracy A. Jeffcoat was found around 10 p.m. Saturday when his girlfriend returned home.
Carlton said the woman reported the home was filled with smoke when she returned. Jeffcoat was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and the Aiken Department of Public Safety responded to the fire. They are still investigating the cause.
An autopsy is scheduled in Newberry on Monday.
