The denizens of the “swamp,” who have become known to us as the “deep state,” are apparently sincere in their belief that the American voters have put our nation in extreme jeopardy by rejecting the progressive, socialist policies of the political left. These bureaucrats, hired or appointed by previous administrations, are supported and encouraged by a few elected officials from deeply “blue” areas. Their stated determination is to save our country from the constitutionally elected administration currently in place.

To date, they have given us the problems of North Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the Islamic State and more. At home, we can thank them for the $10 trillion added to our debt between 2008 to 2016, trade deficits with nearly every country in the world, illegal immigrants by the millions who, while putting a burden on our health, education and welfare systems, are dealing in drugs and killing us. They have provided us with political correctness, more genders than even they can enumerate, and free speech on our campuses — but only for liberals.

Our Constitution, well-thought-out by our Founders, must be considered flexible or just plain irrelevant. Therefore I have trouble believing it’s our constitutional republic they wish to save. They want to put in its place a world order, no sovereignty and no borders (how’s that working out for Europe?). Those of us who prefer the nation our forefathers fought and died to hand down to us must strive to preserve it. The United States of America and our president deserve no less.
