LEBANON, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire police department is mourning the loss of a veteran police dog.

The Lebanon Police Department announced Monday that K-9 Max had been euthanized. Officials say the police dog had suffered from cancer.

Max joined the Lebanon Police Department in 2007. Officer Jeremy Perkins was his handler. Police say the K-9 helped on dozens of drug seizures and rescues.

Max was given one last radio call before he was escorted by Lebanon police.
