CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A woman has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for distributing the powerful opioid fentanyl, admitting it resulted in the death last year of a man in northern West Virginia.

Taylor Michelle Syslo, of Lost Creek, West Virginia, pleaded guilty in in July.

According to court papers, she admitted she sold to Eric Shanholtz for $70 a substance called “tough stuff” in Marion County and had warned him it was potent and it had caused two overdoses before.



At sentencing Monday, the 25-year-old Syslo also was ordered to pay $1,700 to cover his funeral expense.
