WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. (AP) - The former chief executive of Vermont Teddy Bear Co. says she plans to bid for the assets of a Vermont-based outdoor clothing company to help keep jobs in the state.

Liz Robert tells the Valley News she wants to buy the assets of Ibex Outdoor Clothing Co. after it announced it was liquidating and selling its intellectual property.

The chief executive of Ibex declined comment, citing a nondisclosure agreement.

Bids on assets are due Dec. 27, and a final closing is scheduled for Jan. 15. The company says it will slow down operations by February.
