LAS VEGAS (AP) - The comment period ended Monday morning on the proposed guidelines for how funds should be distributed to people affected by the Oct. 1 Las Vegas mass shooting that killed 58 people and left hundreds injured.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the committee over the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund released a draft proposal last month, and the final guidelines will be adopted by Dec. 15.

The guidelines propose that the highest level of payment would go to the families of people who died or received permanent brain damage or permanent paralysis requiring continuous home medical care.

The next level of funding would go to the people who were physically injured and admitted to a hospital.

Committee chairman Scott Nielson says they have received about 200 comments as of last week.
