GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A man has been arrested and charged in the shooting death of a woman whose body was found on a South Carolina road last weekend.
Greenville County Sheriff’s Sgt. Ryan Flood said in a news release that 27-year-old Samuel Lamar Burnside was arrested Monday and charged in the Aug. 5 death of 37-year-old Catherine Tenise Clark of Mauldin.
Flood says Burnside is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Flood says deputies were called about 9 p.m. Saturday by a person who saw a woman attacked by a man and later saw her get into a vehicle with the man. Deputies were called about 15 minutes later by someone who found a body in the road.
It was not known if Burnside has an attorney.
