LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The pilot of a small plane has been hospitalized after making a hard landing in a Kentucky field.
Authorities tell WKYT-TV that the two-seater plane took off from Clay City on Saturday morning, but it lost power once in the air.
Montgomery County Sheriff Fred Shortridge says the pilot was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington with multiple injuries. There was on one else on the plane with him.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are looking into the crash. FAA investigators are scheduled to be on the scene on Monday.
