EXIRA, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say the investigation of a fire that destroyed a bar and other businesses in a small western Iowa town has turned into a criminal probe.
State investigators have joined Audubon County officials in looking for clues and determining possible suspects in the July 14 fire in downtown Exira (ex-ZYE’-ruh). Authorities say the blaze began inside Jerry’s Bar and spread to three more businesses. No injuries were reported.
Authorities say investigators have zeroed in on the fire origin inside the bar but would not release other information. No arrests have been reported.
