GRANTS, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say a truck driver was killed in a wreck on Interstate 40 in northwestern New Mexico when a tire blew out and the westbound vehicle crossed into the median, struck rocks and caught fire.

The New Mexico State Police says officers arriving at the scene in Grants late Thursday found the truck fully engulfed in flames.

The state Office of the Medical Investigator will work to determine the identity of the driver.
