BOISE, Idaho (AP) - A southwestern Idaho jury has rejected a Boise man’s claims of self-defense and convicted him of first-degree murder.
The Ada County jury on Tuesday convicted 31-year-old Adam Bodenbach of killing 20-year-old Ryan Banks.
Bodenbach contended he shot Banks after Banks pulled a knife.
But prosecutors say Bodenbach was angry over an earlier fight and laid in wait outside Banks’ apartment with a handgun on Jan. 6.
A witness says Banks didn’t have a knife but lunged at Bodenbach to try to disarm him.
Bodenbach faces up to life in prison at his Nov. 3 sentencing.
