ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) - Vermont town officials have given final approval to a bike path extension that is budgeted to cost $631,000.
St. Johnsbury Select Board members voted unanimously to approve the project extending a route from the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail into downtown St. Johnsbury on Monday. The Caledonian Record reports (https://bit.ly/2x4JHKH ) the select board had to give final approval to the project budget which included adjustments to make up for a $75,000 difference in the amount requested and the amount awarded.
The project recently received a $425,000 grant from the Northern Border Regional Commission.
The project includes 530 feet (161.54 meters) of new sidewalks and a trail along the Passumpsic River
