BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut man has been charged with fatally shooting a man and setting the body on fire inside an SUV.
Anthony Reeves, of Bridgeport, was arraigned Wednesday in the death of 29-year-old Jason Nieves. Reeves was ordered held in lieu of $1 million bond.
Reeves was charged last week with murder, second-degree arson and weapons offenses in the Bridgeport man’s killing.
Firefighters responding to reports of a vehicle fire on June 7 found Nieves slumped in the front seat of a burned-out SUV. An autopsy determined that Nieves had been shot twice before being set on fire.
Reeves’ attorney declined to comment.
