PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say two people have been hospitalized with burns after a fiery crash involving a big rig and three cars on Interstate 10 in Chandler.

Arizona Department of Transportation officials say the accident occurred about 1 p.m. Tuesday and has closed the westbound lanes of the freeway at Ray Road until 6:30 p.m.

Authorities say the semi-truck collided with a sedan and the force of the crash pushed the sedan into two other vehicles.

The big rig and sedan then caught fire.

Two people in the sedan were taken to a Phoenix hospital with treatment.

A state Department of Public Safety trooper was treated at the scene for a burn injury.

Authorities say the cause of the crash isn’t immediately known.
