KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A Kansas City has been convicted in a shooting that left a man dead and his young son paralyzed.
A Jackson County jury on Thursday convicted 30-year-old Dontae Jefferson in the April 2014 shooting in a gas station parking lot.
The shooting killed K.C. Curry and wounded his 10-year-old son as they sat in a vehicle in the lot. The boy was paralyzed. A 5-year-old boy who was also in the car was not injured.
Jefferson was convicted of first-degree murder and four other charges.
He will be sentenced on Oct. 27.
