LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A woman has been killed in a late-night boating crash on the Ohio River in Kentucky.

The Courier-Journal reports that Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell says police responded Monday around 10:45 p.m. after the boat struck some debris in the river, causing the driver to lose control. Mitchell says a woman who was a passenger was fatally injured as a result.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not released their names.



The LMPD Homicide Unit is conducting a death investigation.
