NORTHWOOD, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire school district is working to find a bus company for some high school students after its current bus service defaulted on its contract.
WMUR-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2ikspDf) the problem affects Coe-Brown Northwood Academy students who live in Northwood.
Superintendent Robert Gadomski said the district had a three-year contract with Northwood Transportation, but the bus company went out of business. He said the district needs six drivers, which it had secured several weeks ago, but four backed out. A meeting was scheduled Monday night at the school library.
State law doesn’t require high schools to provide bus services to students, but former school board chair David Bujno said the town has always had buses for them.
Parents said their main concern is for students who would walk to school down busy Route 4.
