ELDORA, Iowa (AP) - The body of a Marine who died after a tree fell on him at a Southern California base has been buried in Iowa.
A funeral was held at South Hardin High School in Eldora on Saturday morning for Lance Cpl. Cody Haley. He’d graduated from the school. His body was buried later at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
Marine officials say Haley was doing routine morning physical training Aug. 4 when the tree fell on him at Camp Pendleton.
The 20-year-old Haley was assigned to the 1st Marine Division.
