CLEAR LAKE, Iowa (AP) - A woman has been given probation and been ordered to pay back nearly $33,000 stolen from her former employer in northern Iowa.

Court records say 43-year-old Amy Monaghan was sentenced Tuesday in Mason City. She’d pleaded guilty to ongoing criminal conduct after theft and forgery charges against her were dropped.

Her sentence: three to five years of probation; a $1,000 fine, suspended; and a suspended prison sentence of 10 years.

Prosecutors say Monahan forged checks and misappropriated other funds while working as the office manager for Lake Chevrolet in Clear Lake.
