President Trump was receiving updates Thursday from advisers on a likely terrorist attack in Barcelona, Spain, where multiple pedestrians were killed by a suspect driving a van.

Mr. Trump tweeted, “The United States condemns the terror attack in Barcelona, Spain, and will do whatever is necessary to help. Be tough & strong, we love you!”

A White House official said Chief of Staff John F. Kelly “is aware of the situation, and keeping the president abreast.”

Mr. Trump is holding meetings at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, while on a two-week working vacation.
