APPLETON, Wis. (AP) - An Appleton business was evacuated due to a chemical leak but no injuries were reported.

WBAY-TV reports that fire crews responded to the Appvion paper plant about 2 p.m. Tuesday after a report of a sodium hydroxide leak in the basement. The chemical can severely irritate skin, eyes and mucous membranes.

Crews were on the scene for about three hours. They shut down a city street during the incident.
