PLAINFIELD, Vt. (AP) - The mother of a Vermont woman missing and presumed dead after she fled into a river to avoid police after a car crash says she’s seeking closure in the loss of her daughter.
The body of 29-year-old Krystal Bailey is still missing following the Feb. 25 crash near the Great Brook in Plainfield.
Police have searched downstream, but they have been unable to find Bailey’s body. Bailey, a passenger in the vehicle, is believed to have fled into the brook along with the driver. The driver was found safe.
Bailey’s mother, Kathy Jansky, who lives in Florida, tells the Times Argus (https://bit.ly/2wIRbQN ) the last time she heard from police, last month, they’d cancelled a search because of high water.
