PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after two people were hit by Amtrak trains in Rhode Island.

An Amtrak spokesperson tells WPRI-TV (https://bit.ly/2wSSA6t ) a train hit a person on the tracks in Pawtucket on Saturday. It’s unclear what condition the person is in.

Providence police reported that a man was hit by a train a few hours earlier in the city. He sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive. Amtrak officials told the news station that one of their trains had struck the victim.
