SPRINGVILLE, Utah (AP) - People in more than 20 Utah homes had to be evacuated after extreme winds pushed a brush fire’s flames near houses.
The fire in northern Springville burned Wednesday evening after a bolt of lightning struck.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames a few hours after it started. The fire burned about 27 acres (109,000 square meters) of land.
The firefighters’ efforts were aided by rain as the fire began to threaten houses.
Police say no structures burned and nobody was injured.
