TORRINGTON, Conn. (AP) - A 79-year-old Connecticut woman who was hit by a car while walking diagonally through an intersection has died of injuries.
Police say Nellie Crowston died Sunday of injuries suffered in the crash Saturday in Torrington.
Police said Monday that no charges have been filed as they continue to investigate the crash. The driver who hit Crowston is cooperating with police.
According to a statement from the Torrington Democratic Town Committee, Crowston was a volunteer for the committee and a former teacher.
